Prostate brachytherapy is a technique that delivers radiation directly to the tumor. Radiation oncologists perform a prostate seed implant by inserting tiny ceramic pellets—or "seeds"—into the prostate gland. The seeds carry a low dose of radiation, which destroys cancer cells while sparing surrounding tissue.
