About the Health Science Library
The Health Science Library is a private medical library that provides KBI services to physicians, nurses, patients and family members, allied health care providers and associates of St. Vincent Medical Center (SVMC). The HSL collection consists of 5000 medical books and 236 medical journals. In addition, the HSL provides access to a wide range of online resources - including bibliographic, full-text databases, online journals and a computer research room. The HSL is managed by Evelyn L. Walker, Health Science Librarian, Health Science Library Department, Quality Management Division, SVMC.
About St. Vincent Medical Center/Daughters of Charity Health System
St. Vincent Medical Center, a member of the Daughters of Charity Healthcare System, is a 347-bed regional acute and referral care center. The staff includes 610 physicians, more than 1,180 employees, and nearly 200 volunteers working throughout the medical center to assist in the care of each patient. SVMC's specialty service lines are multi-organ transplantation, heart care, treatment of ear and hearing disorders, cancer research and treatment, and spine care.
